Untried treasure? Essie- Coat Couture

Hello friends!

How are you?? So I was one of the people who fell in love with the swatches of Essie’s Cashmere Collection and then completely deflated when I saw all the horrible reviews about the formula. We all know that Essie can be very hit or miss so I decided to forget about the collection, but Coat Couture just stayed with me. I couldn’t get it off my head!! When someone told me they were hitting a supply store and could get it at a discounted price I said.. why not? We ALL know that when we get a polish in our head we really don’t stop until we have it!

So, here it is! what do I think? I personally love it.. I think the finish is beautiful and the color is gorgeous with that beautiful blue shimmer.

What is the formula like?! Well… it is not bad at all. Maybe I was just determined to like it? I sincerely don’t think so. I originally did two coats on all nails, then top coated middle and ring and used some vynils to do a line of flakies, but then I realized the flakies didn’t really work so I just did a third coat on both those finger.. you can barely tell so that to me is a clear sign of “this is not as bad as they said it was”

For nail art I did a simple waterfall with gold glitter. Hope you like it!

So, is this an untried treasure? I believe so. I absolutely love the shade and can see myself wearing again!

Do you have this polish? If so please let me know what you think of the formula!

Thank you so much for reading!

  1. Gorgeous! I have 3 of the cashmeres in my untrieds, this makes me want to pull them out. I think mattes and Satins etc get bad reviews because they apply different than what we’re used to, but different isn’t always bad.

  2. Beautiful! I have this one and ‘Comfy in Cashmere,’ and found that this one had a MUCH better formula than CIC. I think this is the prettiest out of the entire collection, too!

  3. Gorgeous! Honestly, half the time when people complain about formulas on press samples they’re received, I’ve found the people are pretty much swatching them almost immediately after receiving them. Like the Zoya Satins. So many people were complaining about the formula. I waited a week to let the formula even out and it was perfect. Not a single issue. I have this whole collection that I randomly came across but I’m so overwhelmed with press samples I haven’t swatched them yet. Now I’m sad and need to get a move on it, because this is gorgeous!
