Hello friends!!
How are you today?? I have a new to the blog brand for you! I’m super excited to be reviewing BPolished today!! This brand is made by a fellow blogger and of course,I always like blogger turned maker brands (ok yes I’m biased) because I feel like they know what we like and how we like it so yeah I was really looking forward to trying these babies and yes.. I was also expecting a lot from them.
First thing I noticed? Presentation, don’t get me wrong every single time I get swatch mail is a celebration for me, I love the opportunity to try out product and love my brands BUT I specially like it when the packaging is special.
How cute is this?? And it smelled so good!!!! omg I actually had to run to Francine (maker) and ask her what the heck it was she used that smelled so good, super soft and subtle, not overwhelming at all.. kind of lemony, kind of fruity super super super yummy. And.. how pretty and feminine is this? so classy!
Love the little swatch on top of the cap! awesome little touch that makes life so much easier for the polish addict.
Let’s take a look at the Piece of My Heart Collection! by the way, this collection was inspired by the maker’s grandparents. What a sweet inspiration! first pics and my thoughts at the end.
Classic Beauty is a beautiful neutral mauve crelly. This color was inspired by the maker’s maternal grandmother who always wore her mauve lipstick and nail polish. You see three thin coats plus glossy top coat in the pics.
Forty-Seven Eleven is a gold, yellow, and rose flaky filled turquoise thermal that shifts to a clear pale green. This polish is inspired by the maker’s maternal grandfather who always had the largest bottle possible of 4711 sitting on the bathroom vanity. You see three thin coats plus glossy top coat.
Coffee & Crosswords is a rich brown with red shimmer and micro flakes. Inspired by both of the maker’s maternal grandparents. Every morning they would have their coffee and work on the Sunday paper crossword puzzle with a red marker, no pencils for them! You see two coats plus glossy top coat.
Dear Sweet Pea is a rose peach thermal that shifts to a pale soft pink. Inspired by the maker’s paternal grandmother who’s nickname for her was Sweet Pea . Dear Sweet Pea is another thermal shade that in it’s cold state is a vibrant rose coral and when warm is a very pale translucent pink. It also has green glass flecks and green to gold ultra chrome flakies. You see three thin coats plus glossy top coat in the pics
Engines in the Sky is a yellow microflake filled steel blue thermal that shifts to a golden warm nude. Inspired by the maker’s paternal grandfather, who passed before she was born. He was a good family man who worked on engines for fighter planes at Pratt & Whitney. You see three thin coats plus glossy top coat in the pics
Knits & News is a rich black thermal filled with rainbow micro flakes to a clear grey when warm. Inspired by both of the maker’s paternal grandparents and their love of reading the daily newspaper and crocheting. You see three thin coats plus glossy top coat in the pics.
What do I think? Well the shades are all beautiful as you can see; I specially like how “nude-y” the warm colors are for the thermals. Love the mauve nude cream, I think it looks beautiful on my skin tone as I am sure would look amazing on other skin tones as well.
The formula on these was good and consistent pretty much all around. I did have problems with a couple of them having undissolved pigments but spoke about it with the maker and she has tweaked and perfected the formula for release so they are now perfect for you. As a result of this Classic Beauty is now a bit darker, not even one full shade darker though so I wouldn’t even consider it important but of course I share it with you for the sake of transparency which I have always valued. Overall? I think a purchase from B polished is like a gift, and would definitely purchase from this brand.
My package also came with these two lovely items.
This awesome holo magnet…
.. need we say more? you had me at holo.
And quick dry drops…
Which I used on an OPI mani and totally saved my life. They really did make a difference!
