Zoya- Paradise Sun

press sample

Good morning friends!!!

GGAhhh! so excited and happy to finally be showing you my swatches of Zoya’s Paradise Sun! I was really looking forward to playing with these guys and haven’t been able to do it sooner for various reasons so I’m happy to finally be able to show you these.

Let’s remember that Zoya came out with two Summer 2015 Collections, Island Fun made of six beautiful cremes (which you can see here) and Paradise Sun which is made of six  shimmer filled shades. Today I’m showing you the latter, let’s get to it!

Genesis

Is I think the worse of the six formula wise and also my least favorite. I’m not at all a huge fan of shimmery whites. Three awkward coats plus top coat were needed for the pics.

Aphrodite

Was my favorite of the six, absolutely loved the gold shimmer peeking through the orangy red. 2 coats plus top coat in the pics

Mae

Is a bit too familiar of  a shade to stand out to me. I was a bit underwhelmed by it also because I believe these kind of bright pinks don’t suit my skin. again two coats plus top coat in the pics

Selene

Be careful with this guy it kinda looked like it tried to stain my cuticle. It is really pretty though so double up on base and go for it! 2 coats plus top coat in pics

Isa

Another favorite. This is a gorgeous blurpe with a dreamy pearl finish. Two coats plus top coat in the pics

Oceane

This pretty turquoise is very opaque and you can probably get away with one coat. But I did two just in case.

The overall formulas for these guys is a bit streaky on the first coat but can be mended on the second coat except for Genesis for which three coats were needed.  The last three colors were a bit brush strokey for me but that can be easy fixed by sponging on your last coat.

The collection overall is very pretty but I am specially in love with Aphrodite and Isa so I do recommend you pick those two up at the very least.

Decided to do a little sponge mani using this collection. Hope you like it!

  1. Isa Isa Isa! So pretty! It’s reminding me of a Revlon shad I just picked up and of course can’t remember the damn name lol It’s a newer one. Anyways, what a gorgeous polish!

  3. I’ve been reading about Genesis having a bad formula from a few people now, and that makes me so sad! I just got mine in the mail so we’ll see if I got a bad batch as well or if that’s just the nature of this specific polish.
